This museum reproduction recreates the funerary mask of Thuya, an influential 18th Dynasty noblewoman and the mother of Queen Tiye. The original mask was found beside her husband Yuya's in tomb KV46, discovered in 1905 — considered the most significant find in the Valley of the Kings before Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Egyptian artisans hand-finish each piece to capture the gilded detail of the original.
